Where the rights violated? Should I be offended or am I over reacting, What would you do?

Question by winterpixie_13: Where the rights violated? Should I be offended or am I over reacting, What would you do?
I started a new job at a poplar food chain as a manager. We had an orientation for all the new management hires. At the orientation was all the things that we would need for the job. Then on top was a box that said Bible. At first I thought that it was like the company Bible with the rules and regulation things like that then I looked more closely. It said words of Christ in red. This was a real Bible. And it has bothered be ever since.
How do the know my beliefs, I could be a member of any non-Christian religion. Two preexisting employees said that they even play gospel music on the radios at work.
Then the CEO came in to meet us. He said that he gave us the bibles to help us deal with stress in the work place, and hard to deal with customers.
The fact is I was offended that it was assumed that I was a Christian. My mother said welcome to the bible belt, it is part of living on South Carolina. But I wasn’t aware that that SC was exempt when the Bill Of Right was written.
So with this said do I have the right to be offended? They didn’t even give us a cop out like If don’t want your bible place it on the table in the lobby and we will give it someone else.
No it wasn’t a Chick-fil A. Other wise that would have been expected.
Does this violate EOE laws?
Okay Understand, I was was slightly offended, I have never been given a bible at work.
I have always been raised the you never talk about sex, religion or politics at work. So this was a shock to me.
And if I am going to be a manager for this company I might have an employee who get extremely offended. And it might help that I had thesame unsure feeling

thats disgusting they would try and force that upon you…im guessing it was chick-fil A since they are not open on sundays so you can go to church…if so then maybe you should expect it from them, otherwise i would be angry.
