Taking a business course and for one of my assignments we have to write a business plan for an online music company like itunes or pure tracks. But all the business plans I’m finding online or in books are for regular companies. What kind of business plan would I use for something like pure tracks?

In fact the difference between a traditional business plan and an online “informational” product business (yes mp3’s would be an information product as there is no physical product just 1’s and 0’s).

You build the plan exactly the same, the difference is in your COG’s, distribution costs and where the marketing budget is spent. You hard assets are also more likely to be an email list and domains rather than physical structures.

Having written, MANY business plans for dot coms and brick and mortar businesses, my suggestion is to treat them exactly the same.
