What happens when your termite contract is up for renewal?

Question by Fedora girl: What happens when your termite contract is up for renewal?
Do you get your house retreated again and pay $ 1500 + for it, and start a new contract? Or do you just pay the annual fee and keep going?
The previous owners’ contract is up, and we’re thinking of renewing it, but if we have to pay to get the house retreated anyway, we can at least, shop around.

Typically, a renewal is just a warranty that the company gives you that the treatment is still working. They will not retreat unless you start having issues.

Here in Missouri, I have had 3 homes with Terminix treatment and contracts, and the renewal fee was only about $ 250 or so. There are some smaller companies that have even lower renewal fees. As you expect the treatment to be $ 1500 plus, your renewal fee may be a bit higher… I think the most I paid was about $ 850 here.

Good luck!
