There are tons of jobs within music. There are also many skill sets outside of music (accounting, legal, business management, film maker) that you can apply to the music business… I.e. you can be a lawyer and focus on music related contracts.

Music (artist) manager
entertainment lawyer
booking agent
record label executive (A&R, Promotion, sales, marketing etc)
Music publishing executive (Creative, song plugger, royalties)
Performance Royalties executive (ASCAP, BMI)
Working for a music instrument company (sales, marketing etc)
Record Producer
Tour manager
Recording engineer
Mixer
Music Supervisor
It is hard to make money in the music industry these days but then again it’s hard to make money everywhere these days.
