I feel like an A-hole for even asking this, but,
If you ask an apartment management company if they accept housing vouchers, do they have to tell you??
We had one experience where we lived in a nice little community and then they started to take housing vouchers and the loud pounding rap music and, petty theft (things left on the step by UPS) became the norm.
I would like to know how to avoid living in a complex again that accepts housing vouchers, I don’t know if that makes me a bad person.

It doesn’t make you a bad person, the majority of people who use them are scum (not all, but a hell of a lot are). I would ask. I wouldn’t phrase it like you didn’t want them to take it, but maybe ask when you call about the rental (almost like you are inquiring to use one yourself). If they say no, then you should share why you asked.’
Don’t feel like a bad person because you work for what you have and want a nice relaxing home to come home to.
