Q&A: NEED help with deciding on my education?

Question by poeticjustice04: NEED help with deciding on my education?
I currently have a A.A. in Graphic Design. And returning back to school for my B.S. in Sales and Marketing. I would like to get into the entertainment/music business designing album covers, flyers, websites, and other promotional packages to help market my clients. What other certificates or training may be helpful in doing this. Perhaps I can do it while going to school.

If you can help or have further questions you can contact me more personally at PoeticJustice04@yahoo.com

THANKS!

I am also a graphic designer, and own my own marketing firm. I used to design my band’s artwork and album covers, and eventually got offers from other banfs. Just get your work out there, and offer to do some work for free. Getting your degree in Sales and Marketing will make you a much more vital asset in the business community, as oftentimes designers are too subjective about their work, and refuse to acknowledge that their creativity may need to be compromised in terms of the marketing/sales message.

I received a degree in music, my MBA, and a BS in 3D animation in order to have the most well-rounded educational experioence possible. Publish your woro on your own website, set up a .mac account, and put your work on myspace, offering your services to musicians around the world. WHat you eventually change is up to you. Typically, the hourly wage ofa designer ranges from $ 30-$ 40 per hour, depending on the experience of the designer.

I hope this helps. Feel freeto ask me any questions as well.
