Question by rod: Is it possible to major in business and work in the film industry or music industry?
what jobs can i get? the reason why im askin this is because job opportunity for these jobs in hollywood/la are really competitive, so if i major in business, i can get a job elsewhere, just incase, plus im interested in it. i live in LA. should i go to a college in la or go to an out of state school. my first choice school is in Miami so i want to know. would it make a difference?

Now that I’m a college student who majors in film (screenwriting to be specific), it’s definitely possible. The film/music industry is one big business, so you’ll have the advantage of knowing the tricks when it comes to the marketing side. But you might like to join some filmmaking clubs and meet up with people who share the same interests ’cause one of the things I learned about the entertainment industry is: sometimes what matters most is ‘who’ you know than ‘what’ you know. So just take every chance to widen your connections. I think whatever state you end up in doesn’t affect you that much. You can always go back and forth later on.
