Q&A: Advice on pursuing a entertainment career?

Question by #1 princess: Advice on pursuing a entertainment career?
I am from a country state (alabama) and I have always had a desire to be in the entertainment and music industry. I don’t know where to start to get involved in the entertainment field. Should I relocate? If so, where? Should I get in the studio? If so, what do I do when I get there. Or should I go back to school? And if so, for what? I am a 28yr old female. I have a Bachelors in Management Information systems. I just feel like this is 8-430 job isn’tt what I am called to do. I love music with a passion. Some of my favorite artist are India.arie, Lauryn Hill, John Legend, Anthony Hamilton, and etc. I wanted to start writing songs but once again where should I start. I plan on taking guitar lessons next week. Please only serious and experienced people respond!

Hello..I also live in Alabama in Birmingham. And here most people relocate to Atlanta to puruse their career and get themselves known. And yes you will need to get with someone and try to record some music in a studio. Also post your music on youtube to get yourself out there. Get a facebook, twitter, and myspace page and put your music there. You’ve got to get your self out there in order for people to hear your music and in order for you to have a chance to pursue a career in the entertainment business. Also record albums and go outside of places that gets lots of business (such as walmart, shopping malls, target) and sells your CD’s. This will help get your music out there so people can listen to it. Also send CD demos to producers, record companys or even music entertainers out in Atlanta. I hope I helped 🙂

And Alabama isn’t a country state. I’ve been born and raised here and I don’t even have a southern accent!!!!
