South Carolina born Kathy began singing in her local gospel choir at an early age. Her first single Can’t Play Around,” was released in 1993 and shot to number 13 on the US Billboard Dance Chart. She then scored huge success as part of musical collaboration Praxis, achieving a number one with Turn Me Out which has since been remixed and re-released a number of times. Brown then collaborated with David Morales in 1999 for Joy which leaped to number four in the Billboard Dance chart and is still one of her more recognizable tracks to date. But her biggest track to date which shot Kathy to her known fame today is surely Soul Centrals Strings Of Life (Stronger On My Own), which was a top ten hit reaching number six in the UK singles chart alone, and a huge hit across Europe and the rest of the world.
