I love music and would love to work in the music industry, not as a singer!
what jobs that earn a lot and gives a lot of opportunities to work with and around influential people are in the music industry?

Well, just live and breath music and your opportunity will come.
You have to be very open minded and creative. You have to put your thinking cap on. KNOWLEDGE is the key. Learn equipment (names, how to work, etc.) fiddle around with instruments, hang around in bars, events, etc.. the more people that begin to know you and see your face the more doors will open for you. Read and study, go to the official music websites and forums, such as bmi or ascap, etc. Learn to copyright music. Ask people around you if their music has been copy-written use the opportunity as it comes. Learn to create press kits. Copy-write your own person song so show and prove that you have knowledge. Hang your official rights received from the us copy write office on your wall in pride.

Can you work a sound board? Pan, Compression, Limiter,
Do you know any club owners?
Do you know how to book a show?

Do you have a business card? What is on it? Is it limiting you? Drawing attention to something that is most needed?
Are you attending or have plans on attending school for “Business of the Music Industry” etc..?
Are you calling your local recording studios just for conversation?
Can you run a Video Camera?

Do you know singers, etc.. in your local neighborhood?
Can you produce a Press Kit?
Again, KNOWLEDGE is the key. The “music industry” in which you “would love to work” is within you. You are the industry begin to produce now. Gain as much knowledge and experience as you can attain in your downtime.
**REMEMBER: You are never apart of the music industry until you make yourself a part of if. There are plenty of official websites out there. Registrations, Trade Marks, etc.. Get yourself signed up and become a part of the industry today.
