wow you’re really good
you should definitely go to NYU

I just thought I’d add a little something:
now to clarify – you’ve been accepted to nyu music school for ??? vocal performance? musical theater? you don’t look old enough for college.
I went to Interlochen Arts Academy for my high school years majoring in vocal performance and was accepted into U of M for vocal performance and was accepted by a graduate instructor as my teacher (life happened and never got to go).
Now, if you have a couple years to go before school to mature then maybe nyu. My recommendation would be to go to school somewhere (I would think this could be either school) where you can major in something realistic and minor in music (or vice versa if you prefer). Your parents are right to worry a bit as most don’t make it. If you are ok with having a very difficult life (broke and crappy dayjobs to support your art), and can’t bear the thought of doing anything else – then go for it because you won’t be happy otherwise. I would not recommend this though. I am a member of the chorus of the big city opera company in my area – the principles (leads) that come in to perform have to travel CONSTANTLY and also most have to teach to support themselves. I have met some that even have other jobs – even performing professionally they can’t support themselves. Any kind of performing art is a tough life unless you make it big and VERY few can achieve that.
