HTC Touch Questions ?

Question by Naterz34: HTC Touch Questions ?
My family is going to jump ship from AT&T once our contract is up. We are deciding between Alltel and Verizon. I want Verizon so I can get the LG Dare, but I think my dad is leaning toward Alltel. If we go with Alltel I would want to get the HTC Touch or the Samsung Delve. (I know that Verizon is buying Alltel, and Alltel is going to sign the paper on January 8th. But when we talked to an Alltel person the other day he said there might me a small period of time after the papers are signed that you can still sign up with them.) My questions are below:

1. If anyone has any input on which phone I should pick – Samusng Delve or HTC Touch – that would be great.

2. Is the music player good on the Touch?

3. What is the Touch mainly used for – Business, multimedia, texting, etc? (I’m looking, mostly, for a mulimedia phone)?

4. Is it easy to put music on the Touch?

5. Is the Touch a girly phone?

6. Do you need to use the stylus for anything?

7. I know that the on-screen qwerty is not good at all, but I watched a review where the guy had downloaded a different – landscape mode – qwerty. How do you download that?

7. Is the Touch a good phone all around?

8. Do you need to have a specific plan with the Touch?

THANKS
This is the phone I am talking about:

1.Husband has an HTC Touch cruise, I don’t know anyone with the samsung so I can only give you input on the HTC

2&4 he doesn’t use the music player and still has a separate MP3 player. I don’t know if it would be easy to put music on it.

3 Besides calling and texting he mostly uses it to surf with and as a GPS. Surfing can be excruciatingly slow on it, most sites don’t have a mobile-browser version and take very long to load.

5 It’s not what I’d call a girly phone, definitely bulky and not very pretty.

6 Without the stylus it’s kind of hard to use the interface.

7 a Not seen him use anything but the built-in keyboard. I’m sure if you search google for custom apps you’ll find tons of stuff.

7 b He likes it, battery life is ok and it’s an intuitive phone to use. On the downside the quality of the mic is not very good on the default settings and even at it’s loudest the ringing isn’t very loud so he has a lot of missed calls. So I guess he’s happy with it, but i’m not 🙂

8 Here in Europe you don’t need any specific plan, but best you get one with lots of data transfer included.

Have fun choosing 🙂
