Eightball & MJG “Pimp Hard” Uncut Version

Today 8Ball and MJG also head their own record labels. 8Ball heads 8 Ways Entertainment (distributed by Koch Entertainment), while MJG heads MJG Muzik. On their label are the young, up and coming Memphis duo, Da Volunteers, who are widely known throughout the Southern United States for their 2006 single, “What’s Yo Favorite Color?”, which glorifies their neighborhood of Orange Mound. In March 2008, MJG signed a deal in Atlanta with 404 Music, Inc. to release his newest solo album entitled, This Might Be The Day. The album is scheduled for release June 2008. These two rappers met at Ridgeway Middle School in 1984. The group had announced in December of 2007 that they have signed on to TI’s record label Grand Hustle.

They had started out with names like “Embalmed”,”Utmost Deformity” and “Deformity”. Sentenced followed the footsteps of fellow finnish bands like:Abhorrence,Funebre and Swedish and American bands like Obituary,Death and Entombed (Those bands defined their sound but Sami Lopakka has stated that his favourite band was at the time Slayer and Miika Tenkula’s favourite band was Iron Maiden). They recorded their first demo “When Death Joins Us” in 1990. At the time the line-up was: Miika Tenkula,Lead Guitar and Vocals. Sami Lopakka,Guitar. Lari Kylmänen,Bass. Vesa Ranta,Drums. They recorded the second demo “Rotting Ways to Misery” with the same line-up. Thrash Records which was a french label,offered a (bad) record deal. They recorded their first album “Shadows of the Past” in 1991 (Taneli Jarva who is Miika’s cousin,replaced Lari Kylmänen on Bass). Later to regret the deal,Sentenced left the record label. They recorded the promo tape “Journey to Pohjola” in 1992,which was sent to all kinds of different record labels. Finally Spinefarm (which was at the time really small,they had Beherit for example) called them up. They recorded the technical and melodic masterpiece “North from Here” in 1993. Miika,who wasn’t interested anymore in singing,made Taneli the bands frontman. The EP release “The Trooper” had an Iron Maiden cover,one song …
