Am I the only one who doesn’t prefer Mac OS X?

Question by Sean: Am I the only one who doesn’t prefer Mac OS X?
Just bought a MBP earlier and it’s a stunning. I must hand it to Apple, from an aesthetic perspective, I think in hardware and software, they have produced the most beautiful notebook I’ve ever seen. But, aesthetics aside, I don’t really see how the OS that ships with it is any better than the newer versions of Windows?

I’ve been pushing myself to ‘see’ the wonder of Mac OS that everybody raves about, but I’m just not seeing it beyond the good looks. I’m having more problems with it than I’ve had with Windows and that is very ironic considering what I’ve heard. Everybody talks about how stable and simple they are, and it definitely lives up to simplicity I guess, probably simpler than Win, but that actually comes at the cost of features..I mean there is no cut and past function for instance, which saves hours on file transfers. Then when I select folders such as my music stacks, it doesn’t tell me how much space they consume IN TOTAL from the finder. And every time I want to fire up C&C 3, I have to reboot the computer and switch to Windows (not Apple’s fault). Although I like Expose, Window management is very clunky, for example, many menus don’t appear on my dock (as much as I like the look of that too, it eats up a lot of screen real estate :P) and cannot be moved which makes multitasking a pain. Further, both Adobe Photoshop and M$ Office are slow as hell on the Mac OS. In fact most apps seem less responsive than the Windows alternatives (Finder < Windows File Explorer) running on the same Mac which is even more ridiculous! Those are just a couple things off the top of my head. The only thing I really prefer in SL besides the GUI is the boot speed, which is definitely faster and also that program GarageBand which is actually pretty good. I'm not trying to hate on Apple or anything ...in fact it's good that Microsoft get some serious competition (I'd rather Apple triumph over M$ actually)..but that aside, I feel as if Snow Leopard is actually the inferior OS on my Mac. You feelin' my vibes here or am I just on crack? Amen brothas Best answer:
