Nintendo music difference between game companies?

Question by Aloan M: Nintendo music difference between game companies?
Does anyone know why was Konami/Ultra game music different (better) than any other games made for the nes? I don’t know of any game that had the sound quality of contra, super C, castlevania, goonies etc. Did they have a proprietary dsp chip or they just knew what assembly codes generated those unique drum beats, guitars and basses?
