We have started to perform some of our own compositions (songs) at local folk gigs. We have been very pleasantly surprised at the reception they are getting and are thinking of releasing a CD. We have the facilities to do this ourselves but a music publishing company (a well respected folk label) is also showing interest. We have looked at all the stuff from the PRS etc and are now thoroughly confused about the best way to protect our interests and make sure that we earn the money we should if we go down either route. WE already know how to copyright our work, but any help and advice on the above would be appreciated. We live in the UK
