Depending on what you what type of sewing you need done, I would suggest calling your local Dry Cleaner, make sure that they do tailoring. If they do, then contact the tailor and ask them if they know of anyone. Sometimes tailors in dry cleaners get paid by piece work, and at this time of the year, they are not usually busy, so they may offer their services at a fair price.
If that doesn’t work, then try your local fabric store-like Joanne Fabrics or a Mom and pop fabric store, most people in those jobs (fabric cutting people) would know of someone or will direct you where to look.
