Guru Dakshina – The story revolves around the protagonist, Tapas Paul who amidst all his misfortune and financial crunch, still loves to sing. Blessed with a golden voice Tapas Paul epitomizes the tenderness of music and the warmth of timber. Brought up by the village musician (Kali Banerjee) and his widowed daughter in law (Shakuntala Barua) he was also best understood by them. Tapass brilliant voice and skill earns him accolades and here the story takes a twisted turn. Satabdi Roy, the daughter of a corrupt business man happens to hear Tapas Pauls voice at a music conference. Although committed to an equally corrupt would be husband (Soumitra Banerjee) Satabdi Roy still feels for Tapas Paul. To belittle Tapas Paul and indeed to evade him from the music industry Satabdi Roys father in cooperation with his corrupt would be son in law plays a master plan and pays Kali Banerjee a lumpsum amount towards the treatment of his grandson. In return Kali Banerjee has to agree to an unfair deal of asking Tapas Paul to forget his music career. Tapas Paul also agrees to his music guru, as to him it is the biggest tribute to ones guru.
