Q&A: I’m 23 and I can’ t decide my major plz help?

Question by yair: I’m 23 and I can’ t decide my major plz help?
I am thiking of majoring in enforcement, photography, hotel management, speech pathology (I don’t know if I want to get my masters and you need a masters in most states at least to become a sp)….
I am thinking of being a photographer, music producer/lyricist, model casting or promotions, concert promoter, speech pathologist, police officer, investigator, hotel manager or gm
I KNOW HEALTHCARE and LAW ENFORCEMENT (in the local police department) is where the jobs are at BUT I don’t want to work 8 hours a day and HATE MY JOB!!!!
I thought of being a esl teacher BUT I think i’m afraid of public speaking
i don’t know if I’m really patient enough to become a speech pathologist
if I get into law enforcement (in the local pd) I don’t need a specific degree
JOY learn how to read I said I don’t want to work 8 hours AND HATE my job!!!!

Those are all very divergent fields.
Why don’t you visit your local police department and talk to some of the officers about what their day is like.
Do the same with a hotel manager,
and a speech pathologist.
If you volunteer, or just see what they do, you might have more information to base your decision on.
Concert promoter, etc. requires a lot of luck, in addition to knowing the right people. It sounds very risky.
You could always be a “photographer” as an “avocation” – a hobby.
This might turn out to be a career path, but it is something you can investigate part-time, while you get a more viable career started.
Good luck!
