I love music and create my own as a passion and hobby. Where I live there is a good local band scene — people support these artist/bands and they get decent publicity.

I’m only 19 and have no experience with Business aspect of songwriting.

I wrote a song that a local band wants to use — they are the music to match what they are known for playing, however the lyrics are all mine. I don’t know how to proceed — should I hire a lawyer for advice, or put together a contract myself? Tips…anyone???

write the lyrics on a paper and either have it Noterized or mail it to yourself and never open it
