Public shows for free or for a fee is everywhere.. like boxing, pro tennis, pro golf, music concert, horse racing and many others. Who are the people or organization behind the conceptualization, organizing, and promotion of this type of event? Are they event or advertising, or promotion companies?

A lot is now done by professional event managers as this is getting a very complex business.
You have to co-ordinate not just getting the athletes and spectators to a site you already have but:
Catering – food, drink, toilet and washing facilities;
Staffing – recruitment, training of volunteers, ID tagging, separate facilities, working hours rules, transport to/from site;
Equipment – transport to/from site, storage on site, spare parts;
Sports regulators – rules for layouts, timings, weather rules;
Press – accreditation, power and telephone lines, private space.
Public authorities – traffic and crowd control, especially return journeys, emergency services;
and so much more!
I haven’t even got into the whole accommodation and transport issues for a really big event.
