As a young teenager L began to play his first instrument, the piano, followed soon after by guitar, and then bass guitar, drums, harmonica, percussion, and more. Each instrument gave L new insights into the realm of music-making. Practicing his instruments for hours at a time, training his voice and ear for that perfect sound and extensively researching the roots of the music he loved; L began performing almost immediately at a number of well-known Philly nightspots. Through his Philly performances L was blessed with the opportunity to sing and play guitar at the famous Record Plant Studios in Los Angeles for A&R representatives at Def Jam. After impressing Island/Def Jam Music Group A&R Tina Davis, as well as the vice president and president at the time, Kevin Liles and Lyor Cohen, L had landed his first major record deal. His versatility as an artist has connected him with a BMG publishing deal, and more recently a production deal with 3rd Street Music Group as well as a contract with Val’s Artist Management.
