Yes I am starting a dance music promotions company with a friend, and we are unsure of wether we need to register a business name, trade as a partnersip etc. Anyone with good advice please answer.

Yes, you do need to register a business name and you will need to set up a partnership agreement.

Your best bet is to find a good business services accountant as they will be able to advise you on all of the steps you need to take to set up your business legally and financially. Check out the CPA Australia website to find an accountant in your area.
