Why can’t record companies see that their business model is flawed and fading?

Question by NakedHike: Why can’t record companies see that their business model is flawed and fading?
Very recently Madonna and RadioHead who are now free from their contracts turned the music distribution tables on their heads when Madonna announced she had signed a contract with a promoter, not a record company and RadioHead is making its music avaiable on the internet for as little as 2 cents per song.

It’s like…Duh, we don’t need record companies any more. I knew this a long time ago.

I haven’t listened to music on commericial radio or from a record company in over 3 years.

All of my music wants and needs are met by the iNet and soon all of my multimedia wants and needs will follow.

And everything I get from the iNet is totally free and legal!!!
