Question by Another Me: Do I need a PRS licence to play music that is out of copyright?
In an office environment. Copyright ends after 50 years as far as I know, can this music still be covered by the PRS when there is no copyright to uphold?

Music copyrights end 75 years after the writer’s death. So that would need to be some old music.
