Question by Yaz: What qualities do you think one needs to succeed in the music industry?
I’d like to be a professional composer (writing music for films, theatrical productions, advertisements, etc.) and I’ve talent I believe can be developed and honed in university.
What intimidates me are the stories about success only being possible if one is aggressive, single-minded, selfish, a rigorous “social climber”, and similar things, that I, as a mellow, meditative and uncompetitive person cannot imagine being at all.
Can anyone tell me what it takes to make it in the industry?
