all moral things put aside, it’s not a very classy way of doing music (and that goes for every genre). In my view it’s trite way of getting attention; people who have real talent let their talent get them attention. lots and lots of people can be sexy/good looking. if you’re all/mostly about your look and not at all about talent and content, you’re not going to last too long.

now that doesn’t mean that I think if you have talent that you have to be unattractive. Lauryn Hill is absolutely gorgeous, and people do mention it occasionally when her name is brought up, but it’s not the first thing that they talk about and it’s usually not the first thing that comes to mind. Why? because she was incredibly deep in her music; people could relate to it, she demonstrated talent, and it had meaning.
In 5-10 years when (or if) Nicki Manji is brought up, what are people going to say?
Person 1) “Hey man, remember when Nicki Manji was big?”
Person 2) “Yeah man she was pretty hot!”
Person 1) “Yeah…..Hey wanna go to Taco Bell?”
Person 2) “Sounds good to me! And hey while we drive over lets pop in Lauryn Hill’s CD, that album’s dope even today!”

In the end (unless suddenly she releases something amazing or something amazing with real content to it), Nicki Manji will probably be nothing more than a “once upon a time” rapper who got big partly because of her association with a popular (and mostly wack) record label.
