Q&A: What’s required for a job in the music industry?

Question by Killswitch… ENGAGE!!!: What’s required for a job in the music industry?
I’m not sure if I want to work in the music industry yet, but if I do what should I do to get prepared for it (e.g. college major / minor). Also what area of the industry would be most suitable for me: I’m strong in every subject but love English, Art, and Music. I’m really good at math. I’m only going to be a sophomore in high school, but I’m thinking maybe a sound engineer or producer. What skills would it take to be a producer? (I want to work with metal bands specifically).

that’s what i’m pretty sure i want to do….be a metal producer.
there’s college that have degrees in music production.
theres one called full sail university inflorida that i hope to go to eventually.
there’s also one in new york. institute of audio research i think?
you should try checking those out.
both places only take a year to get your degree in the program.
