How should I approach this situation?
Question by LataHarris: How should I approach this situation?
I love the music business. For the last 2 years, I have been working for a guy who used me. He made me do all the work. He made promises and didnt follow through. But afterwards he would apologize and promise next time. Next time never came. I have all his contacts. Especially one for an account with a major artist that I have so many ideas for but i stopped giving them to the jerk. But he is no longer working with the company so the account is practically open. I have done everything as far as sponsorship for tours and buses, run contest, set up meet and greets and after parties. I have all the background work to prove I did it.
Should I approach the company, tell them the truth about the jerk and try to work for them? Or should I act like i somehow came across the contact? I dont know what to do.
I am great with my work. Just the jerk took all the credit and covered me up so much I don’t even know where to start.
Please dont say I was interning because he gave me the title of executive assistant. plus i am 20 and he is 18. nobody was getting paid. not even him.

You have nothing to lose by approaching someone in the company and takig them to lunch, if they will go with you, and start a conversation about your talents, etc.
