I was thinking that I would be a great online business to open my online store and sell music downloads of music that I own. Can that be done just by going to BestBuy and buying a bunch of CD’s?

No…you only have rights to one copy of the song. If you sell an mp3, you would technically have to erase that track from your CD and never sell it again. Any thing else is a copyright violation.
