Question by John says Hello!: What programs should I remove from my laptop?
My laptop is kinda old but still running. I want to keep it working as long as I possibly can (just to see how long it will keep on working), so I thought I’d start by removing unnecessary programs. These are the programs on my “Add or Remove Programs” list:
7-Zip 4.65
Adobe Flash Player 10 ActiveX
Adobe Reader 9.1.2
Adobe Reader 9.1.2 – CPSID_49166
AVG Free 8.5
Broadcom 440x 10/100 Integrated Controller
Broadcom Management Programs
CCleaner
Conexant HDA D110 MDC V.92 Modem
Dell Digital Jukebox Driver
Dell Driver Reset Tool
Dell System Restore
Dell Wireless WLAN Card
Google AFE
Intel(R) Graphics Media Accelerator for Mobile
K-Lite Codec Pack 4.8.5 (Full)
Microsoft .NET Framework 1.1
Microsoft .NET Framework 1.1 Hotfix (KB928366)
Microsoft Compression Client 1.0 for Windows XP
Microsoft User-Mode Driver Framework Feature Pack 1.0
Microsoft Visual C++ 2005 Redistributable
MSXML 4.0 SP2 (KB954430)
OpenOffice.org 3.1
PowerDVD 5.5
Quickset
Quicktime
SigmaTel Audio
Synaptics Pointing Device Driver
Windows Genuine Validation Tool (KB892130)
Windows Internet Explorer 8
Windows Internet Explorer 8 – Software Updates
Update for Windows Internet Explorer 8 (KB971180)
Security Update for Windows Internet Explorer 8 (KB989897)
Windows Media Format 11 runtime
Windows Media Player 11
Windows XP Service Pack 3
I use my laptop for playing old games, reading PDF’s, creating/editing documents, browsing the internet, listening to music, watching movies, and I have a DSL connection (I sometimes use wireless when outdoors).

I think all are important and no need to delete any one. Instead, delete unnecessory data, Run disk defragmentiton, delete temp files…. if you wish to increase sys performance
