Vista Registry Corrupt. Laptop won’t boot. HELP!!?

Question by pharmgirl: Vista Registry Corrupt. Laptop won’t boot. HELP!!?
I keep getting this message on my HP pavillion dv 2845se (laptop) “Windows failed to start. A recent hardware or software change might be the cause.”

File: \windows\system 32\config\system Status 0xc000000f
Info: Windows failed to load because the system registry file is missing, or corrupt.

So then I try to boot up from my CD and do the “Startup Repair” and it says “System can not repair automatically” and sends to a new screen that says

“If you have recently attached a device to this computer, such as a camera or portable music player, remove it and restart your computer.”

I had a USB attached to it but I’ve already removed and have been restarting my computer for over an hour but still no luck… I don’t know what to do. I can’t even get it started in safe mode, it just restarts. Is there a way to fix the registry in the command prompt setting. *I’ve also tried to reinstall my Vista but I can’t because it restarts or I get a blue screen error that says “Cache_manager” or “memory_management”

Can somebody PLEASE help me!!!
I’m going to try that but now I”m getting something that says “Status 0xc0000221, Info: The file is possibly corrupt. Its header checksum does not match the computed checksum.”
I found my recovery CD’s so I’m trying to use that, but recovery fails and says “The instruction at 0x0041d1d referenced memory at 0x0f110b0. The memory could not be read “… Called HP and they can’t help me since my warranty passed.

I think that something that you install lately has caused a corruption in your registry
try doing the following restart your computer in Safe mode and try to use something on your computer called BACK UP AND RESTORE it should be in your start up it is very helpful since it will restore you computer to a specific date before this problems occurred.

if this does not work try contacting your Computer provider i mean HP they should be able to help you
hope that helped
thanks
