seeking MAJOR help/advice. please help me?

Question by Weenie: seeking MAJOR help/advice. please help me?
ok it goes like this..
im 22, i want to be a record producer. nothing more, nothing less. its all i wanna do.
ok so i got in touch with an independent producer/engineer. he doesnt get heavy duty work but he has alot of contacts in the music industry, some are kinda famous. hes financial status is below average.

he just gave me a job as his personally assistant, which means driving him to run errands in my car, picking things up for him and stuff like that. he formed his own production company and im his only “employee”

so, what do u think i should do? do i stick around with him doing those things and hopefully meet some people in the industry and go to gigs and make connections? or do i go on my own and manage to make it by myself somehow?

its only cuz i dont want to be an personal assistant. i want to be in a music studio, producing records.

p,s, i have a full time job already, not music.
recording school is always beneficial but not required. alot of the big shot producers never studied it, like timbaland(im guessing) and Rick Rubin

My friend Justin is getting into the same business. Not to sound like a parent but you will have a HUGE advantage getting a degree in Music Recording, or some similar Field. As for your current sto, I would depart from him after finding a more financial set recording company to join adn I guess try to move up in the list. That just my 2 cents for what it’s worth.
