Q&A: Can I put a copyright on a movie that contains copyrighted music?
Published March 25, 2011
Question by pinacoladaxb: Can I put a copyright on a movie that contains copyrighted music?
Let’s say I made a movie, but I used a song that I do not have distribution rights for. Can I put “© 2008 Atomic Riot Studios Production” at the end to protect my material, or can I not because it is not all owned by me?
OK. So I can’t make movies with other people’s music without permission?
How much would it cost to get permission? I just need an estimate.
