Question by stork: Thinking of going back to college for a music degree. What does this help with?
I’ve recently been really interested in making my own music but my family is pushing me to go back to college. The college I want to go to has music programs such as music business and music performance. What do these 2 offer in terms of jobs? and can these help me to hopefully find a career in music as an artist? What should I be on the lookout for if I want to one day be a producer or be able to make music as a profession? Also is there any good money in this?

music business will probably get you a job working for a music-related company, which could include an instrument manufacturer or a record label. if you want to make guaranteed serious money, take this route.
music performance is great if you want to be a professional musician though. having a degree like this, especially from a school with a really good music school will help immensely. making good money is purely a matter of luck. if things work out well you’ll make some good money; what’s most important is that you’re in for the right reasons. if you truly love music and are good at it, you’ll be fine.
hope this helps.
