Would you illegally download a song because it wasn’t available LEGALLY?

Question by : Would you illegally download a song because it wasn’t available LEGALLY?
This happens a lot with dance music and perhaps in other musical genres.

There are songs in the U.K. that sound great…even better than what is released in the US, and you want to purchase it. However, because of licensing issues within the recording industry, you can’t purchase the track because you don’t live in the UK due to the industry controlling the digital rights of a song. I’ve tried using the iTunes UK store and it wouldn’t allow me to download a song being that I live in the US..and the US store didn’t have that song available.

It’s a dilemma because for those that WANT to purchase their music legally, you want to SUPPORT an artist. But if you aren’t allowed to make a purchase, what do you do…especially if you LIKE a song?

Would you resort to getting a music download that YOU WOULD HAVE PAID FOR LEGALLY, through illegal means (such as P2P). And should the record companies leave you alone with that..since the issue stems from them??
For the record..I DO make my purchases legally. There are songs out there I WISH I HAD but don’t because it isn’t available for purchase in the US. I’m in no way endorsing illegally downloads. Its really an issue that a record label won’t ALLOW you to have a track since you live elsewhere..but you like a song THAT much that if it wasn’t available ANYWHERE through legal means would you go the illegal download route.

In this case, I don’t think the record labels can hold it against you since THEY are the ones “cutting their nose off to spite their face” realizing they could have made MORE money if they only made a song legal EVERYWHERE.
