Why do white people listen to rap music?
Question by noetic: Why do white people listen to rap music?
I’m not saying only certain people should listen to certain music, but more questioning why white people (particularly males) are the biggest consumers of rap music.
I suspect it’s because rap music promotes stereotypes that (some, not all!) white people deem as true. These stereotypes include blacks being impoverished, hypersexualized, uneducated, violent, materialistic, etc.
Being that the entertainment industry is run by rich white males who have little or no personal contact with women and minorities, do you believe they endorse the idea of stereotypical blacks towards the same kind of people who agree with their ideas?

becasue rappers think there ‘hard’ so people who listen to them like to think there ‘hard’ aswell, rap isnt music, its crap!
