When creating a contract for work, what steps are needed to make the contract binding?

Question by Rob: When creating a contract for work, what steps are needed to make the contract binding?
Not sure how to word this question: basically, I’m trying to figure out how to create a contract between two parties for work. The details and terms of the work are written out in the contract, and both parties sign the document. But what steps need to be taken to make the document legally binding? Is it enough just to have the document notarized, or do there need to be witnesses as well? In other words, how do I make the contract “official”.

Thanks.

No notorization is not enough. You need to have 2-3 witnesses sign and date this contract.I am a business owner and do this daily.
