What licences do I need if I want to put popular CD music on videos I make?
Published May 29, 2011
Question by qq: What licences do I need if I want to put popular CD music on videos I make?
I’m starting up my own small business, filming editing videos of 21st, 50ths, celebratory events. I know I need a licence if I want to use music (popular music) on my videos, and making money off them…
My question is, how do I go about getting a licence so it’s all legit? I’m in Victoria, Australia so it would help if people from Australia mainly answer. But I’m open to any responses.

Contact the recording studios and they will cut you a deal. eg, for every dollar you make, they get 10 cents etc.
