What is a hot music city in the US right now?

Question by Dances With Mops: What is a hot music city in the US right now?
As you may know, LA, Nashville, and New York are the dominant cities in the US music business. But every so often, an artist from another city will get sufficiently poipular that the record company suits will send people out looking for other actgs from that city. As an example, when Prince came out, Minneapolis was “the place to be” for a little while; as was Athens, Georgia when REM popped up. And let’s not forget the Seattle grunge movement, the San Francisco psychedelic scene, or Motown. There are others, of course, but my question is: What is the current “hot” city in the music business?
