What equipment would a starting out music producer need?

Question by Rob Van: What equipment would a starting out music producer need?
I just wanted to start playing around with music and beats and stuff and start making some cool songs. What kind of equipment do I need. Like for
-Beats
-Recording outside sounds
-Just getting the best sound quality while being some what price conscious

Any help is appreciated. If your gonna say I cant make it I dont care what you say so dont bother answering the question.
