What does Berklee School of Music look for when accepting applicants?
Question by Jax Berlin: What does Berklee School of Music look for when accepting applicants?
I’m extremely passionate about music, particularly contemporary studies and music business. I’ve been college searching and I feel that Berklee could be a great fit for me, but the cost is definitely a bit high.
I have played violin for almost 10 years and I have been playing guitar for 2. Next year I plan on taking the following high school courses: Music History, Music Theory, AP Music Theory, Orchestra, and out of school studies as well. I also write contemporary pop music, as listed on my myspace at www.myspace.com/naylaparis. I’m very serious about studying music, but does Berklee have any kind of scholarships to give? Do I have a good chance of getting accepted? What is required of a students who has been given financial aid? I know, lots of questions 🙂 but I need as much info as I can get.
If anyone has information about Berklee, it would be so helpful! Thanks so much! 🙂

Well first off, it’s spelled Berkeley.
The courses you’re taking / going to be taking are really good. I know that Berkeley offers a lot of scholarships for students who excel in all sorts of activities. It’s possible you can aim for getting a music scholarship. Try to do some researching, I’m pretty sure there’s such thing.
