What can electronic stores do about a computer with pirated software?
Question by Thomas: What can electronic stores do about a computer with pirated software?
I’ve been doing a lot of thinking lately about the whole concept of pirated (stolen) music, movies, software etc. Regardless of your opinion on the whole subject, my question is relating to the actuality of what can/should/ is done about these laws. If someone were to take their computer in to an electronics store to have something repaired or cleaned, etc, do those stores report the person? Or is there some kind of confidentiality agreement. I suppose with movies and music it would be hard to tell, but I guess my question relates more specifically, but is not limited to software.

First of all the only thing they want out of you is your money.
They may tell you however that many of your problems stem from the pirated copy as Microsoft will not update a bogus copy of Windows and usually will result in virusus and/or Spyware infecting your computer.
