What are the top 5 hottest towns in black music (Rap and R n B)?
Question by C7BEZ: What are the top 5 hottest towns in black music (Rap and R n B)?
1. Atlanta: to me they still hold the crown. Last year I think NY ran the game especially in the second half of the year. But Ludacris has a platinum single. Usher just released a new album to solid sales. Jeezy is killin the mixtape scene and his album is highly anticipated. TI is back with new music. Lil Jon is comin back with his new album… finally lol. Big Boi from Outkast too. Of course Gucci Mane is doin his thing down dere. Monica had a nice come back. Ciara is startin to heat up again. Keri Hilson is hot right now. BOB had a successful debut with a hit record. Overall ATL makin a big come back compared to last year.
2. New York City: I don’t understand why people say New York is dead when they have some of the most active artists out right now. Alicia Keys and Mary J Blige doin they thing with some new music and highly successful albums. Red Cafe got one of the hottest singles out right now with I’m I’ll. Lloyd Banks got a nice hit with Beamer, Benz and Bentley. Fabolous not too long ago released one of the dopest mixtapes I’ve ever heard. Diddy is all over the place doin his thing with music and movies. 50 Cent is still doin his thing on the road and with movies. Jadakiss put out a dope mixtape not too long ago. Jay Z got the most BET award nominations with 5 and his BP3 album is still doing well. Nas just released a classic with Damian Marley.Thats a 5 star classic album right there. And Lil Kim is in talks with Roc nation for a new deal. Overall NYC is still a force to be dealt with in the urban music scene.
3Miami: Miami got some good things going on for them. Then biggest artist outta there right now is Rick Ross. Just put out a classic mixtape, new album is on the way and his new partnership with Diddy can only help him in my opinion. Dj Khaled is also doin his thing with the All We Do Is Win monster collab. What makes Miami stand out is the fact that the Unity is really strong down there. And even tho it looks like Ross and Khaled are the only ones really doing anything down there the fact that Miami is so diverse makes it automatically one of urban music’s hottest cities.
4. Los Angeles: DETOX DETOX DETOX!!! The album thats been keepng the West Coase relevent in its most darkest hour looks like it may see the light of day this year! Dr. Dre need to go ahead and drop that album forreal forreal. That album has the power to bring the West Coast back to prominance and I hope it does because I love the west coast for sure! But other than Detox Snoop Dogg had a monster hit with “I Wanna Rock”. Ice Cube is comin back for his crown with his new album. The Games new album is highly anticipated as well. Overall the West Coast is doin pretty good. Not to mention all of the underground talent over there.
5Chicago: Everybody is focusing on Kanye West right now and his return to rapping. His new song “Power” is making a killing and he’s been getting major cosigns from producers and rappers about this new album being some of his best work to date. He even released some New music in NY recently that had the crowd goin crazy. Welcome back Kanye! Also Common is working on his new record and thats supposed to be a return to the greatness that is Common. Jerimiah is Chicagos new Chi town r and b prince with R Kelly being the king still. He’s on his way back with new music. Lupe Fiasco is slowly but surely coming back with some new music thats sure to rock the industry like the Cool did.
St Louis, Philly, Memphis, Houston and New Orleans isnt really doing anything right now to be honest. DC at least has Wale. lol. B more aint sayin nuthin. Detroit got Eminem whose got a new album comin out so thats a good look for them. And Drake is holdin down the whole of hip hop with his new album comin out soon. Reppin Toronto Canada to the fullest!!
