STORY Wamego Strikes Back is the sequel to the award-winning documentary “Wamego: Making Movies Anywhere.” The first installment covered the making of the independent Kansas-made feature Firecracker,” which starred Karen Black and Mike Patton. “Firecracker” went on to win numerous awards and was named on Roger Ebert’s list of 2005’s best films. Wamego Strikes Back is both a documentary on the oft ignored world of indie film distribution and a pep talk to like minded filmmakers who feel strangled in the age of the bloated Hollywood monopoly, gazillion dollar budgets, shoddy distributors and even shoddier financiers.
