The ‘All American Rejects’ suck!?
Question by ♀: The ‘All American Rejects’ suck!?
Maybe its just the songs that they play on the radio but every song I’ve heard of their’s so far is awful. Their lyrics make no sense and their note structure is hacked and thrown together. There’s nothing original about their style and hearing them makes me kringe a little every time. How do bands like this get a record contract? Their music is not original what-so-ever.
I like rock, punk, emo, ska, reggae, blues, bluegrass, techno (house kinda sucks), some rap, some hip hop, 80’s is awsome, 70’s is cool, 60’s is great, 50’s, 40’s, 30’s, and so on has its greats, I listen to ‘classical music’ and play it on the violin but I have to say that of all the music appriciation I have I will never appriciate the 2 sloppy songs that the ‘American Rejects threw out. So if anyone has an educated ear for music, please tell me why sh*t like this gets a record contract.

I actually like Move Along a lot. Those lyrics are pretty straight forward and unambiguous. What’s your definition of a good band? I’d like some names.
I have an educated ear for music. I self taught myself to play the guitar, fronted my own rock band with music I wrote. But to say they suck is just kind of too broad of a statement, plus it’s just your opinion, not doctrine so you shouldn’t sound so judgmental. It’s sad that a lot of you music junkies tend to be very holier than thou and denounce anything that’s not in your CD collection which is close minded, to say the least. As far as originality is concerned, most bands even from the genres you mentioned all have influences that impact their particular style of music. Current Punk (whether you think this exists) gets vision from Sex Pistols, Misfits, Ramones, Antiflag, etc. and so on and so on. I hope you can at least not put people down for their own personal tastes. Someone may think your CD collection sucks, too, my friend. Although, I’m sure you have a pretty impressive collection. Although I personally don’t like Ska.
