Sony Connect Music Store and Player?

Question by Dianne: Sony Connect Music Store and Player?
I am beside myself. I purchased 250 song down loads from the Sony Music Store, which is now no longer in existence. There is also no number to call for support. In the information they now do provide, they say you will be able to play your music from your player and/or transfer the music to another device or your computer through December 31, 2008. None of the music I have on the player will play. I get an error message: Error000065f( invalid rights management in the open MG content. They provide you with their own file conversion software. You’re supposed to back up all your music first on a CD, which I did, then you run their file conversion tool, which is supposed to convert all the music to non-DRM extensions. After running that, I got a message that none of my music needed converting because I had the latest player, so that was a waste of time. I did manage to get all the songs into my computer, but I still can’t play them from my computer. Then they have their own CD burner called “record now”, which I tried to use. I burned 3 CD’s and tried to play them back; but, of course they don’t play. I had heard from several sources that in the fine print of their E.U.L.A., it states that you can only use the player if it is in conjunction with one of their Sony products, such as a Vaio computer or their Sony MP3 player. Will somebody please tell me if there is anything I can do here? If there is nothing I can do, I am out $ 250 worth of downloaded music. HELP!

You could try some methods or programs that remove DRM off of the protected files.
