Samantha Bennardo AKA “Sicily” was born in Brooklyn, NY And currently resides in Tampa, FL. Her musical roots were seeded by her maternal grandfather “Chillo” who played with Tito Puente in the 1950’s as his timbales player. Raised in a non-Christian predominant Italian home Sicily began to fall in love with music. As her mother played 70’s disco, jazz, Motown R&B, Salsa 80’s hip-hop, pop and R&B. Sicily took an early interest to Hip hop, Rap and Pop. In Sicily’s teenage years she was looking to fu fill the void in her heart that she was feeling from depression and started drinking and taking drugs. As a result of her lifestyle, She started to have suicidal thoughts and problems with depression. At the Age of seventeen she honestly surrendered her life to Christ and then began to rap only for the one who gave her the gift to rap. In May of 2005 she graduated high school as valedictorian from Ethylene R Williams Prep. In June of 2005 she signed with 2ice Born Records. In 2007 Sicily released her first debut Album entitled “THA GOD DAUGHTER” which she co produced & featured artists such as Urban D, Fantazma, Dinah, Kelly Kelz, Tonio, Mesianico & Casero.Tha God Daughter album was a success locally & her song runaway was featured on Tampa Bays Spirit FM.
