Question by Haydne: RCM Grade 10: Gershwin Rialto Ripple…PLEASE HELP!?
I am planning on playing Gershwin’s Rialto Ripple Rag for my Royal Conservatory of Music Examinations for Grade 10. I have this piano piece version with Jerome H. Remick Publishing company, but the syllabus says I have to play Alfred Publishing’s version.
Is there a difference? Is it okay if I play the version I already have?
PLEASE HELP IF YOU CAN! All comments are wholly appreciated 🙂

I’m pretty sure that you’ll have to purchase the version published by the publishing company indicated by the syllabus. But if you happen to use your original one, you’ll most likely not get caught because the examiner doesn’t usually check over your pieces to make sure that they’re on the syllabus. Let alone checking if the piece is published by the same publishing company. It is really up to you whether to take the risk or not.
