I read in another question that its a percentage of cd sales and other stuff. Does it include touring? and for how long does the A&R make a percentage of the artist? Is it until the contract is finished with the artist? or if they renew it, will he continue to make money off the artist until his death (the artist’s)? and what if the artist dies and then sells millions later will he get a percentage? And typically whats the percentage, 2%? 5%? What about, say, your an average A&R, How much money would you make a month? How often do they travel? How many hours do they work? Besides looking for talent what are their other responsibilites? Do they continue to work with the artist they signed to a degree or is he forgotten? Any other information is greatly appreciated.

It all depends on the contract.My son turned down several recording contracts because the A&R wanted to own him.The music industry is a cut throat industry.
